I'm not okay right now.

My (now ex) girlfriend outed me to my sister after I explicitly told her not to because I wasn't sure how my sister would take it. My sister is mad at me because I didn't tell her myself and didn't trust her enough to tell her. I broke up with my gf because of it. My sister is my best friend I'm so upset that it's ruined. I really am alone.

Hi I’m so sorry to hear that this happened to you. It was not OK for your ex girlfriend to do that and I totally understand why you broke up with her. When and who we want to come out to is a very personal decision and no one should make that decision for us. I would imagine that, by doing this, your ex girlfriend really broke your trust. Is that right? 

I'm sorry that your sister is now mad at you for not telling her. Can I ask, did you tell anyone else in your family?
