Heyy @TinyDinos, that all does sound like good things. Just checking in, how are you doing? How's the weekend been for you? 🙂

Omg best of luck for your driving test! I am really excited for you ❤️

How are you?

Thanks. I’m really nervous about the driving test but im just trying not to stress it too much. It’s a good thing to learn how to drive esp where I live, we gotta drive to go everywhere, nothing is in walking distance and we don’t really have public transportation.

im pretty tired, but overall okay. Much better than the last few times I was online, as that was a particularly rough patch for me unfortunately. More recently there’s been some improvement though. I had enough motivation to do laundry, shower, and be up to more social activities. I still have to clean my room, but im not trying to burn myself out. I don’t have too much schoolwork right now either so im not too worried. My mom has been in a relatively good mood, and my dad met his quota of interaction with my sisters be seeing them in early October, so I haven’t heard from him which is always nice and helps as to not have added stress. I’ve been playing a lot of bass, and I have done some new art that makes me happy. I’m getting my nose pierced in like two weeks, and I turn 17 in about a month. Big things happening. I think I’m getting a little bit better.

the only thing I suppose I could really complain about is the occasional voice raising or conflict from the adults being triggering. I’ve been anxious when it happens, but I’m doing okay afterwards with petting my dog and such, overall just having a better week. Thank you for checking in.

how was the holiday for you both? I hope you had a nice Halloween/Dia de Los Muertos :)

Also here’s the new art bc I felt like sharing. The first is some fan art of Sunny and Mari from OMORI, the second one is a sketch of a harbor seal I saw at SeaWorld and I thought was cute, and the last one has some doodles of Pomni and Jax from The Amazing Digital Circus, as well as a possum because we get possums in my backyard sometimes, so yeah there’s my art dump.

Hi @TinyDinos,

I completely understand that this would feel a bit nevous for you, but the instructor believes in you and you've worked so hard to be where you are today. I'm sure you'll do great! And hey, if there is something you still don't feel confident about, it's not the end of the world to do the test again.

I am so happy to hear that you are doing a bit better. We all go through rough patches and we learn a lot from them - as unpleasant as they are. We learn to be resillient and where to focus our energy etc. It sounds like you are trying your best (as usual)  but still trying to have reasonable expectations for yourself, which is really positive to hear. Really excited for your piercing and for your birthday! Are you doing anything special for your birthday? 😊

I understand that. It is hard hearing people argue - especially as you're left in an awkward position. You don't want to listen and yet it's loud so you can't help to listen. Are you able to pop in your headphones and listen to something else when this happens?

The holiday was lovely, thank you! I did a pumpkin trail with my husband and daughter. It was very muddy and my husband didn't have good shoes (have bought him a pair of proper wellies since) so he kept sinking through the mud lol. My daughter still gets a bit frightened of the traditional pumpkin carvings so every year we try and make it less intimidating for her. This year she wanted Mike Wazowski from Monster's Inc, so we managed to do a Mike Wazowski pumpkin! And then we weren't allowed to throw it out because she loved it so much, bless her. How was your Halloween? Did you end up watching Jeepers Creepers? I ended up watching a Korean zombie movie called #alive on Netflix. It was pretty alright!

I thought I replied to this but I guess I didn’t on accident haha.

So, I failed the test. I’m not upset over it though because it was literally one bad turn that caused it, and now I have to go back in like two weeks to redo it, and I WILL pass this time :). I spent the morning with my mom though! She took me driving before the test so I could practice, and I pumped her gas and did a car wash for the first time. It was nice, I was anxious to go with her because the last time I did she got mad when I messed up and yelled at me a lot. My stepdad talked with her and this time she completely changed her approach. She didn’t yell at me at all, and she focused of complimenting what I did right. It was SO much better. I really enjoyed it.

im excited for the piercing too :) That’s really all I asked for for my birthday. My family takes birthdays seriously though so I know we’ll wind up doing something. But for the most part I have no idea.

the arguing makes me really anxious, and it happens before I realize its happening right in front of me. I only ever hear shouting if they’re upstairs in their room arguing, but it’s kind of a trigger because of all of the arguments between my bio parents. The hard part with that is that there’s not really anything that I expect them to be able to reasonably do different. People argue, that’s just how life works. They always work it out in the end. It’s just uncomfortable being a bystander in the way there.

that sounds like a lot of fun!!! I’m glad you had a good holiday. :) OMG your daughter sounds absolutely adorable 🥰🥰🥰 My sister loves mike wazowski too, but mostly for memes since she’s 13 haha. I learned that if you put cinnamon in your jack-o-lanterns then when you light the candle inside to make it glow, your house will smell like pumpkin pie 🥧 I didn’t wind up carving pumpkins this year though. I went trick or treating with some close friends of ours and my siblings of course. And we have a tradition of doing “the great candy trade” that me and my sisters have been doing since we were little. Basically we just dump out our candy on the ground in the living room, sort it, then trade away the stuff we don’t want in exchange for things we do want, so I usually trade skittles to my sister for Reese’s because I like peanut butter but she doesn’t lol. It was fun adding our friends to the mix too because their family has four kids, so there was seven of us in total making the trade a lot more interesting lol. Overall it was a good holiday. We didn’t wind up watching Jeepers Creepers, but we watched The Descent and Evil Dead. I liked both, but Evil Dead was a bit too gorey for my taste and made it hard to watch at some parts. I haven’t seen Alive! I like Korean media though, so I’ll be sure to check it out :)

Sorry to hear that you failed the test. It sounds like it all went really well except that one bad turn. Two weeks is not a long time until the next opportunity so that's reassuring in a way 😊 Well done for bouncing back and having another go! I'm so happy your stepdad got through to your mom about encouraging you more. It sounds like you had a really good experience sorting some car maintenance stuff!

Happy early birthday! Really excited for your birthday piercing! Are you having it done on your actual birthday?

Maybe it's useful in a way to see that everyone argues from time to time, but that the healthy arguments are the ones where you make up and solve the issue (or at least find a solution of sorts). But I understand this would be triggering. It might be worth trying to shut out the noise and then seeing them afterwards to see that they are fine. Just to reassure yourself. What do you think?

What a life hack! I had no idea! I need to try this next Halloween! It sounds like you had a really good Halloween! Genious idea to do the candy swap! I would be on your sister's team with the skittles (mainly because I'm allergic to nuts - not like serious or anything but it does make me feel uncomfortable). Evil Dead is a bit brutal actually. It's a really good movie, but I agree it is a bit gorey. Haven't watched the Descent! Was it good?

I think you'd be a brilliant teacher 😃. I feel like you would really know how to inspire others - you've worked so hard and you have been through a lot yourself. And it sounds like you already understand what does and doesn't work, when it comes to teaching. I can see you being really passionate about it ⭐

Thank you both for the encouragement! I’m actually excited about it and I hope to stick with it haha but I’m not stressing too much in case I change my mind.

thanks for the feedback about the driving stuff! I feel really good about it and I’m grateful my mom was patient with ,e and taught me some new things too.

Thank you for the birthday wishes too haha! I’m getting it done in like a little over a week now, but my birthday is December 11th :) I asked my parents to get me a guitar this year and I’m hopeful that I’ll get it. ^-^

i think that’s a good idea. It makes me nervous to be around it so it might be smarter to stay away until things settle down.

yeah! My uncle showed it to me! He’s really cool with stuff like that :) My sisters and I came up with that a long time ago haha. We found out that there was so much candy we didn’t like that one of us loved and we could just swap. And then on top of that some of the candies we all like we could all trade for whatever we’re more in the mood for (for example we all like lollipops/suckers, but this year I wanted more chocolate so I traded them with my sisters). I’m sorry to hear that you have nut allergies! Even if it’s not too serious, it can still be very bothersome :(. I agree. I enjoyed watching Evil Dead, but not to the point I’d want to watch it again or suggest it for spooky movie night. The Descent was good! It was really cool, but I think some of the scare factor was lost on me because the whole premise is that the main characters are going spelunking and I’d personally never do that in the first place haha. It was a good movie and I liked it. :)

Feeling better today!

I slept most of yesterday, waking up to take medicine and eat a soup, but mostly got sleep. Today I’m feeling better! Less soreness and only mild congestion. Hoping that means it’ll be gone tomorrow! I have a band practice today and a paid gig tomorrow so I’m REALLY hoping it’ll be gone lol.

The gig went really well!!! I had an awesome experience and got paid well. Now I’m just back to teaching regularly :)

my period cramps are horrible though. I’m in a lot of pain :(

Hi, it's great to hear about the positive things going on for you lately! :)  Physical discomfort of any kind is annoying to deal with, but I'm happy to hear your gig went well.  Hope you feel better soon enough!

Like 3 days left before I get my nose pierced!!! I also have an art student now, and apparently after the first lesson, she went home talking about it so much that her twin brother got jealous! Their mom asked on their second lesson if she could double up because her brother wants to do it too! So now I’ll teach both of them 😊

I’ve doubled up lessons before for that same reason (one girl was learning guitar so her sister wanted to learn strings too and she takes uke from me now, or another girl saw me play bass to accompany her brother and wanted to learn bass on top of her other lessons with me, etc.) but this one is really cool! Because it’s an art class, i can teach both of them at the same time, so I’m getting twice as much pay for half of the work. Normally for music it’s doubling my time, so this is really awesome and I am really happy about it 🥰

entirely unrelated, but I think I’m gonna rewatch invader zim today :)

Heyy @TinyDinos, How are you doing today?

And, wow, sounds like you've got some exciting stuff going on! Super pumped for your nose piercing - it's always a fun way to express yourself. And how cool is it that your art student's enthusiasm is spreading like wildfire? Teaching both of them at the same time sounds like a win-win – double the fun and double the pay for half the effort, can't beat that! Also, Invader Zim is a solid choice for a rewatch! That show's got the perfect mix of humour and nostalgia. Enjoy your trip down memory lane, and keep rocking those lessons!

Thank you!!!!

it hurt a fair bit more than my ear piercings, but it’s because they didn’t use the piercing gun, they just used the needle itself. So I knew it was gonna hurt more than the other ones I got, but I was surprised by how quickly it was over. The lady who did it for me was very kind and did well. It was clean and quick and I’m so happy with it! We definitely gave her a tip haha.

I was scared of passing out 😅 I passed out when getting my blood drawn, and I’m really scared of needles and stuff to the point of passing out in the past, but I’ve been able to do it before with just general anxiety around it and then it’s over and I’m fine. I definitely wanted the piercing (idk if it was less scary because I actually wanted it or what) so I was overall less scared, but still worried that once I got there I’d pass out haha. While we were waiting, there was this little magic 8 ball toy in the waiting section, and my mom asked it if I’d pass out and it said “most likely” so we laughed about it and then I asked the same question and it said “yes, definitely”. Definitely a funny story to laugh about! I didn’t actually pass out this time though and I’m really happy about that haha.

I got a stud and I love the way it looks!!!!! It’s matching my mom’s right now, but I think I’m gonna switch it to ring in the future so I know what style I like better after it heals. I’m so so so so so happy with it though!!! It was definitely a good decision :)
