Morning/night routine checklist/diary, for Megan.

Me and @Duckie came up with an awesome idea to help me settle in the evenings I follow this what I’m about to write and hopefully I feel and settle down before sleeping, as night time are hard for me at the moment. I’m also going to be adding a morning routine also because I have no motivation in the morning, so I thought it would be good :)

Morning routine: 

  • Wake up, make my bed, add my teddy’s on display.
  • go to the bathroom, clean my face and brush teeth. Have shower
  • go back to bedroom and get dried and dressed.
  • put favourite perfume and deodorant on.
  • check my phone and reply to messages 
  • ask mum what the plan is for the day.

that’s a simple and basic morning routine, hopefully if I can navigate doing that and seeing an improvement then I will add some more. 
 

Night time routine: 

  • Go into bathroom wash face, and ( makeup, if applied that morning) brush teeth.
  • go into bedroom. ( my mum normally comes up with me ).
  • say goodnight to mum, and kittens, patch and Chloe.
  • get dressed into PJs, ( lion king ones!) 
  • get comfortable in bed and put YouTube or Netflix on tv.
    gently fall asleep. 
     

of course like I said above, this is my first time trying one of these out so don’t judge me please. I’m doing this to try improve my quality of life. 
I will be adding to this every morning and evening and will say to each point if I have completed it or not, and at end of every week on a Sunday I will do summary of how my week has been. 
 

this will be starting tomorrow, sorry for the long post -

So far I’ve:

  • woken up
  • about to say good morning to my mum and kittens. 
     
  • will go to the bathroom.
  • take my meds. Will update when and if I’ve completed this :)

I’ve completed:

  • taken my meds
  • said good morning to my mum

What do you have planned for the rest of the day? Also, how are you finding having your routines? Do you think it's helping or not?

I do think it’s helping yes :)! Not sure if you read CS but me and my mum are going to go watch the new barbie film in cinema!

Don't worry, sometimes stuff gets in the way. And it often takes time to properly settle into a routine. How did it go this morning?

I just woke up so not good rn

Haven’t done much this afternoon, just said hi to my mum and went back upstairs. Just exhausted 😴

It sounds like you might need a bit of a rest today. What do you think about your nighttime routine tonight? Are you going to do the same?

Had a Chinese! Also had a shower so yeah sort of followed it :)

That's great :)

Routines are so good for our mental health. They mean that we know what to expect and we also get a sense of comfort and safety from them.

Not really. Been having flashbacks from the ab!se. Urges to sh. 

Having another shower at 1am.. Idc I’m really feeling the full affect of the flu. I’m struggling physically and mentally

Had an awful day- so not completed anything 

Today I have had a productive day. Had my physiotherapist appointment this morning, then went to the bank to put money in, then came home filled out some forms. Then went out to Primark and mum brought me some new fluffy pjs and a lion king oodie!! I’m so excited!
