What happen when I told my friend my preferred pronouns

I told my friend at the library in our school she turned away when I told her and when we asked why she did that she said "I don't know you." we asked if she superseded me and she said yes she is not like her parents. Now I am really happy because I thought she would hate me, then I remembered she wrote down what pronouns to use based on what earrings they wear, so really happy :)
