Crush on classmate

Im a freshman college student and I’m currently in band camp this week. I have a crush on a guy who is also in band with me. I want to talk to him but I have terrible social skills and don’t know where to start? Anyone have any advice?

The last time I had shown good social skills and had a good conversation was when I was with my highschool friends. What made it so good is that we talked about anime, or maybe what happened during the school day, or whatever came to mind.

That's a great example, thanks for sharing. I think what is key is to just talk about whatever comes to mind or whatever happened that day. Could you ask about the camp in general and see how he is finding it as well?

I will ask about that too. I was also considering telling him that he playing the music great too (he is in the clarinet section)
