Is wanting to be a boy transgender?

For as long as I can remember I've wanted to be a boy. I hated it when my mom forced me to wear girl clothes. Most of my friends were boys when I was younger because I felt more comfortable around them. I always hung out with my brother and played with his toys, even though I have four sisters. Now I'm here wearing boy clothes and I have short hair. I want to ask my mom if I can get a binder but I know she'll say no. I haven't told my whole family I'm bi how will I tell them this?
