Hi everyone. It's been a while since i've posted on here (or been on social media at all).
I haven't came out to anyone, besides my best friend Fred. And i dont think i want to, to be honest. I'm not planning to come out to my parents until i go into university and move out. I haven't came out to my closest friends either, not even my boyfriend. Most of my friends are homophobic, and i think they'd be mad if i told them their friend was pansexual. My friends, and my boyfriend, are very religious (but so am i). They don't really believe that people should be gay, bi, pan, ace, etc. because it's a sin.
I'm scared to come out, and i would just really love someone to talk to. Thank you for reading this, have a good day. 🙂

Hey @Bee_Is_Yes

It's good to hear from you again. How has it been being away from social media?

I completely get why you are scared to come out; when people are religious, as you say, there can often be negative beliefs towards the LGBTQ+ community. I've supported many people in your situation before, and although the fear is very real, they often find that once they come out, their loved ones react well. If they don't react that well at first, they usually come around to the news eventually, but it can just take time, so try your best to be patient and hold out hope. I just read your other post and saw that you came out to your boyfriend and he was really supportive - that's amazing! How are you feeling?

I feel alot better about myself away form social media, to be honest. Not as much stress 🙂

And i'm feeling great! I told my mom this morning, and i did have to explain what pansexuality is, but i'm happy i came out.

Hey,

Ah, okay. Do they understand the difference now? Also, how are you doing? 🙂

No, not really. She only believes there's two genders.

I'm good! How are you?

Hey,

Ah, okay. Can I ask, how did you explain the difference to them?

Yes, I am good, thanks for asking 🙂

@Monsoon Okay!
Pansexuality is where you like all genders, and find them all attractive. Bisexuality is where you only find men and women attractive.

Hey,

That's a great explanation 🙂

I think the problem is that your mom only thinks that there are two genders. Have you tried explaining the other ones to her, and the difference between gender and sex?

@Monsoon Yeah, but she doesnt quite understand, so i have to keep explaining. Which is fine, she'll get it eventually!

Yeah, totally. You have such a good attitude to life. This kind of thing can take a while to sink in, so I would keep on educating her - I'm sure she will come around 🙂
