Hi, before i start, ig theres a tw for disordered eating. Now that that is out of the way, Ill cut right to the chase, i ate way under 1,400 calories for a the past couple months. To be more specific, i ate anywhere from 400-1,000 calories, my average being more or less 600, a day and became obsessed with trying to burn it off. I know now that this was unhealthy, and have tried to get back on track alot since then, but the tough part is the whole gaining weight thing. My body is hoarding fat bc i was basically starving my self for so long, so now that im trying to eat more i feel like my stomach is always huge. How do i get back on track? Im scared becuase of some bad decisions my body will always hoard the fat, and ill go back to rating so little. Help!

Hi Lizzie,

Thanks for coming to Community for support. We are here to help you. I'm sorry to hear you've been going through this. I think it's really brave for you to speak so openly about your struggles.

How is it going with trying to get back on track? It's really good that you're making a start with this. When people have difficulties with eating, research shows that it can be tricky to get back to where you were alone. I'm wondering if you've spoken to your GP about this? They will be able to point you in the right direction.

Here is a support article we have for those who have difficulties with eating. This has a link to a charity specialising in this area. They have a support community similar to ours which might me useful:

https://www.b-eat.co.uk - This is the charity I just mentioned

I hope you find this support useful. Let me know if you don't find it so helpful as we can figure something else out.
