And I want to till some little lies for what Job I do. So I wouldn't be socially isolated or rejected because of telling people the truth. That does not and should not define you even if you had a dream job. You could try switching the conversation over with something like "I'm currently volunteering / retraining / updating my skills / upskilling as I'd really like to work in... xxxx" Often people ask those type of questions just to be social but it might be worth trying to shift the conversation over to things you're more passionate about.
