What Do I Do?

I recently told my closest friend that I am bi. I have been for 3 years and haven't told anyone. I do have a boyfriend of 4 months that i have known since the 5th grade. So, since I figured out I am bi. I live with my dad and step mom, and they both grew up in a very homophobe space. My grandpa is the most homophobic person you will meet, and Im scared my dad will regect me. I have no idea what to do. I’m worried that if I tell my dad he won’t want me anymore! Any advice would be helpful at this point!

I'm so glad you were able to share and feel supported by your closest friend... it's a great start to a support system that loves and accepts you for your most authentic self! Does your boyfriend know, too?

 

It's unfortunte your parents grew up in a household that was homophobic-- I wonder how they feel about how the world is getting more progressive! Homophobia is just their fear, and their lack of understanding.
