TinyDinos Posted January 24, 2023 Share Posted January 24, 2023 Y’all liked the first poem I posted so here’s another: Sunshine Toasty and pleasant on my skin I smile as you gently kiss my forehead Trying to coax me out of bed With a bright smile of your own. I protest. Mr. Sun, I can’t bear to part with my quilts, Surely you understand? Promises of a warm, sunny day convince me After all, who wouldn’t want to have a little sunshine in their life? My brain foggy with the remnants of forgotten dreams Commands my legs to move But they remain wrapped in my cozy blanket burrito. I thought we were going to get some much-needed light? How long must we stay in this room? The velvety reply was obvious We’re safe here. But of course, Mr. Sun, you are as persistent as ever. No matter how hard it is to pull me out of my little nook. I drag myself to my feet and my journey begins. It’s gonna be a long day. I want coffee. This one is just a free verse. I honestly prefer free verse poetry. I’m sorry friend I’m on the verge of tears atm but it’s bc I cry when I’m angry and it’s annoying. I’m going to my room to get away from my family though so I’ll be okay.
