in my experiences I was myself and it worked out just fine, until he thought I was cheating on him with his best friend, he only thought that because me and his best friend were really good friends and now we hate each other. and I have no idea why

That sounds like him being too worried! If he really did love you, he would trust you enough to have friends. You didn't do anything wrong :(. That was on him! So yes, you can be yourself! And eventually you will find someone who loves you just the way you are :)

You should never not be yourself in a relationship because I did that once and now my ex and I hate each other and don’t even talkΒ
