Lookingforsupport
Hi I am 14 and I am gay/lesbian. I have been wondering about how the best way to come out to my parents is. They often say remarks which can be offensive to the LGBTQ+ community and they also claim to be quite liberal. I feel like I need to tell them soon, because otherwise I will be lying to them and also a bit to myself. What should I do? Ditch the Label Staff Blondie Posted August 22, 2019 Ditch the Label Staff Share Posted August 22, 2019 There's no rush so do wait until you are ready rather than feel pressured to come out. If you're worried about their reaction (in regard to your safety) we always recommend waiting until you can leave home for university or college. If you feel you can broach it with them sooner we have some great advice here: https://www.ditchthelabel.org/coming-out-to-your-parents/ Does this help?
