iggypop91 Posted July 3, 2019 Share Posted July 3, 2019 My father (the family rock) passed 3 years ago and my brother hasn't been the same since. I went through deep depression and drug addiction and now that i'm better i would like to help. He talks about suicide, hes angry all the time, is on a path of self destruction and loneliness. Remi Posted July 4, 2019 Share Posted July 4, 2019 Hello @iggypop91 I'm so sorry to hear about your father, losing a parent is undoubtedly the hardest thing we will ever have to go through. Did you or your brother access any bereavement counselling? I would say the best thing to do at this point would try and get him to access professional help. Does he have a sport he could vent his anger into or feel like he is part of a team. I know he is your twin and you must have such a strong connection but you cannot take full responsibility for him - all you can do is encourage him to access support. Anthony IV Posted July 4, 2019 Share Posted July 4, 2019 Just letting him know that he can talk to you at any time and offering support will help a lot. I have depression/anxiety and I can tell you it's much easier to deal with when you have someone there to support you when you cant support yourself.
