From social media tips and advice to staying safe online, how we use our phones and digital detoxes - here's where to talk about it. Well, I think I'm going to add a few things I do to stay safe online First, online friends stay online. Part of your friendship is where you met, so I honor that by keeping it there. Two, if you have to give a site or person an email, and you aren't sure how that email is going to be used, give them a 'spam' email. All of my subscriptions go to it, but nothing really important does. Therefore, if it gets hacked or I'm having issues with people, I can delete the email without panicking over how I'm going to save my stuff Three, use secure passwords! Try not to keep them super similar. I also rank passwords based on security level I'm seeking - I have one for all the accounts I'm not really worried about, a few for the ones I'm possessive about, and more for the ones that I need to be foolproof. Four, I have a lot of red herrings in my social media as to my location. I picked a spot in the city I live, and I time all the places I've been based on that, and make sure to get lots of pictures in that area. For example, I'll say something like, 'I'm going to the zoo later today - it's amazing how infrequently I go, since I can walk there in ten minutes', which effectively shields my real address Any more tips people have, feel free to add 1 MultiQuote
